Let's take a look at the many classifications of perfumes:

Floral: No mystery here these are the scents that smell like flowers! Great examples of florals are perfumes like Calvin Klein's Eternity and Anais Anais a classic scent by Cacharel.

Fruity: These are the scents that consist mainly of fruit essences. If you love the smell of fruits such as strawberries, melons and peaches then this is definitely a classification that will work for you. Popular fragrances that classified as "fruity" would be DK's "Be Delicious" , Burberry Brit and Juicy Couture.

Orientals: These are the mysterious, rich and sensual fragrances such as Calvin Klein's "Euphoria", "Obsession" and DK's "Cashmere Mist". For those of you who adore "Cashmere Mist" but are having a difficult time finding this fragrance LMS Fragrance makes a superior Perfume called "Essense of Cashmere Mist" which contains 28% real Cashmere Mist essense oil which is 5% more than the department store Cashmere Mist. You can find this fragrance at Designer Parfums http://www.lmsfragrances.com/oklahoma .

Citrus: If you are wild about perfumes with notes of lemon, orange, lime and grapefruit you will love this classification of perfume! Popular scents with citrus notes are "CK One" by Calvin Klein and Elizabeth Arden's "Green Tea".

Greens: These are the clean fragrances that make you think of fresh cut grass, fresh meadows or leaves. Popular examples of greens would be Calyx and Jessica McClintock.

Chypre: Chypre fragrances are the woodsy and cozy fragrances. Popular chypre fragrances are Chanel #5, Paloma Picasso and Elizabeth Taylor's "Passion".

YEP! That pretty much describes me to a T! I LOVE gourmands and orientals because they are spicy and ususally have a base note of Vanilla. My favorites in this category include: Angel by Thierry Mugler and Samsara by Guerlain. But, recently I have tried Tender Poison by Christian Dior, and though it is a fruity-floral, I love it for the summertime!
